観の目、見の目                        See and Mind's eye

武芸での目のくばりかたは、大きく広くくばることです。目つけには観の目と見の目がありますが、観の目を強くして見の目は弱くするのが大切なことです。観の目とは心で見る聴く働きと、気を感じる働きです。離れたところの動きをしっかりと捉え、近くの動きにはとらわれずに全体を見ていると、相手のささいな動きに惑わされず的確な行動がとれます。私たちの見るのは「見の目」ですが「心そこにあらざれば見えどもみえず、聴けどもきこえず」との格言どおりで、自分の興味や関心のあることは良くきこえますが、関心のないものは遠くなります。居合道の修錬では武芸者苦心の極めて合理的な動きとして完成した「カタ」の反復練習を行いますが、こうした技術面での向上を目指すだけではなく、視野を広く持った、人としてのこころを良くしてゆく効果もあります。                                                                                                            It is  required to pay attention to your surroundings with your open and wide eye in Marshal arts. It is an essential to have a strong SEE eye and a weak WATCH eye at the same time when you demonstrate Iai Kata. SEE eye includes both seeing something with your mind and sensing a subtle movement. You can take appropriate and reasonable action without interference by opponent's' motion if you see big picture rather than trivial matters. it is correct that we can clearly hear and understand what we have concern but cannot others as the proverb says "The eye is blind if the mind is absent." Keiko practice contributes not only to develop our Iai performance but human resource development to be a person with wide and open view by repeating completed Kata which our ancestors have developed with effort.  

まつもと塾での稽古と居合道の用具                      Our Keiko Practice

居合道の大会や稽古には「日本刀（真剣）」、あるいは「模擬刀」を使いますが、どちらも「銃砲刀剣類所持等取締法」により、業務その他正当な理由による場合を除いては携帯が禁止されています。これは銃や刃物を正当な理由がなく所有することを禁止している法律で、違反には罰則があり事件や事故を防止し社会生活の安全確保が目的です。又、「日本刀」は本来武器ですが、鉄を鍛錬し作られた美術工芸品としての価値が認められ、登録は文部科学省となっています。それ以外の刀剣類に著しく類似する形態を有するものとしての「模擬刀」（模造刀）と区別しています。   We use a Japanese sword (Shin-ken) and/or sword without blade (imitation) for our Keiko practice and a competition, which are prohibited carry without appropriate reason by the respective law. It aims to secure our safety and prevent unforeseen incident. The Japanese sword (Shin-ken) is an arm originally and is regarded as an art work as well, which is differentiate clearly from imitation.         

初めての方には貸し出し用としての木刀、模擬刀で稽古を行って頂きます。木刀では、持ち方、振り方、前進後退や左右へなどの基本的な動きの会得を目指します。軽い用具で無理なく慣れて頂いた後で模擬刀での稽古に進みます。　　この期間で、ご自身の手の大きさに合った柄の長さ、太さ、柄巻き形と体力に合わせた重さ、刀身バランスなどが確認できます。その後にご自身の模擬刀の購入を検討して頂きます。ネット通販などで購入してしまいますと、重すぎやバランスの違和感、柄巻きの緩みなどのトラブルや筋や関節を痛めたりするなど怪我につながってしまいます。また、ご自分の好みの刀身の刃文、柄や鞘の色などの選択範囲も少ないものです。一定期間お貸しした用具で稽に充分に慣れました後で居合道専門の業者を選びご自分の体型、体力、好みなどに合わせて作成出来るセミオーダーの模擬刀、日本刀で安全に楽しく稽古が出来ますことを願っています。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　まつもと塾は、全日本剣道連盟、埼玉県剣道連盟居合道部所属の活動ですので営利目的はまったくありません。Imitation sword and a wooden sword will be lent at the Keiko practice if necessary. You will learn fundamentals with the wooden sword through practicing how to hold. throw and footwork first. The wooden sword might be easier of handling than the imitation sword because it is light. Practice with the imitation will come next.                                              During the practice, you can identify a most suitable grip size, weight, length, balance and so on which are essentials to cast your own sword. It is not recommendable to purchase a ready-made sword because it might cause an injury.    It is sure that you can enjoy to arrange details with your preference such as color, blade pattern.                                     Matsumoto-Juku is a non-profit based club which belongs to All Japan Kendo Association and Saitama Kendo Association.
